Updates
The rod business has been booming lately. About two thirds of the rods I've built lately have had "microguides." These are just now starting to appear on factory rods, at a big price premium. I don't charge any more for these than standard guides.
I've also built quite a few graphite rods specially designed for crankbait fishing.
Nowadays, most of my business are application specific rods for crankbaits, drop shotting, shaky heads (really popular these days), or Senko/Trickworms.
